Camp Restore Tour

Welcome to Camp Restore!

Camp Restore is located at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and School in New Orleans East at 9301 Chef Menteur Hwy.

Once you’re in the parking lot and finished thanking God for a safe trip, check in at the green door. The camp office is the first door on the right once inside.

Past the office you’ll see the camp lounge on the right and the dining hall on the left. The lounge features a big-screen TV, pool table and an assortment of books and games. A computer station as well as WiFi Internet access are also available. Through the windows of the lounge you can see the Orphan Grain Train Kitchen Trailer where our cooks Brenda and Lorraine prepare meals for campers.

Lorraine brings some Southern cookin’ to the dining hall.

In addition to feeding thousands of volunteers, the dining hall has also hosted talent shows, devotions, sing-alongs and games.

The classrooms of Prince of Peace school have been converted into dorms—graffiti is welcome on the bunks, so be sure to sign your own personal message of encouragement!

We have a fully-equipped tool room at Camp Restore; you’re always welcome to bring your own tools and donate them when you’re done.

At the back of the camp is the RV parking lot where long-term volunteers are able to hook up their own campers or stay in several bunkhouse units provided by Orphan Grain Train.

For volunteers that have extra energy after the workday but aren’t heading out on the town, an epic game of HORSE or 21 at the Camp Restore court is a fun way to cap off the day.
